Product Overview: The Delphi XM SkyFi Marine Kit lets you install your Delphi XM SkyFi radio (sold separately) on recreational marine craft such as fishing boats, sport boats, yachts, and sailboats. The kit's water-resistant sealed case protects your SkyFi XM satellite receiver while giving you full access to its controls and display. Note: The marine kit is splash-resistant, not waterproof, and is not intended for use on personal watercraft such as jet skis.
Protective Case: This marine kit includes a splash-proof case designed to help protect your SkyFi receiver from water damage. The clear UV-resistant cover allows you to view the SkyFi's display while allowing you to control the receiver with your SkyFi remote. The case's rubber gasket helps keep water and sea spray from entering the case around the cover opening and around the cables. The antenna and audio cables enter the case through the bottom and connect to the docking cradle.
Adjustable Bracket: The mounting bracket can be attached to your craft using the supplied screw-down flange. You can substitute the screw-down flange with a self-adhesive mount, if desired. The mount is approximately 4" high, and can be shortened by 2" by removing an extension piece. The ball-mount lets you swivel the case in any direction.
Universal Audio Adapter: The supplied Universal Audio Adapter combines a 12-volt (DC) cigarette lighter adapter and a wireless FM modulator. The cigarette lighter adapter provides power to the SkyFi radio. The FM modulator allows you to listen to XM Satellite programming directly through your FM radio. Using the two switches on the adapter, you can select one of 8 transmitting frequencies: 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, 88.7, 107.1, 107.3, 107.5, or 107.7. A 5/8" wide rubber band lets you cover the switches to keep water out of the adapter.
Auto-on/Auto-off: The adapter will automatically switch on or off when the SKYFi receiver is turned on or off.
XM Marine Antenna: The supplied weather-resistant XM antenna is designed specifically for marine use and will withstand the rigors of high-vibration, salt-water environments. The antenna should be mounted in a location that is not enclosed by metal that may interfere with reception. If placed on a metal fly bridge, the antenna should be mounted so it protrudes at least 5" above the bridge's top edge, with at least a 20° clearance from any metallic obstruction on all sides. Cable ties are supplied to help you secure the attached 20' antenna cable.
XM Satellite Radio: XM Satellite Radio programming features up to 100 channels of digital-quality music, news, talk, sports, entertainment, and children's programming nationwide, many of which are commercial free.
